Did You Know About Our Campus Celebrity?

Hold onto your hats, folks, because we have a renowned resident on campus—well, actually, it’s a famous pig! That’s right, it's Hamilton, the porcine superstar we adopted from the Tri-City Animal Shelter nearly three years ago. When he first trotted into our lives, Hamilton was a rather sad sight. He was malnourished, terrified of everything, and had a serious case of “people avoidance.”

But fast forward to today, and what do we have? A chubby little bundle of joy who adores all his buddies, whether they walk on two legs or four! Hamilton has transformed from a shy wallflower to the life of the barnyard party—his favorite pastimes include eating, snuggling with Mabel (his goat BFF), and engaging in spirited debates with the goats about whose snack is tastier.

In a delightful turn of events, the shelter reached out to Mrs. Drake in early January, asking her to share information for an article about Hamilton’s fabulous journey. The piece beautifully illustrates how shelter animals—like our beloved Hamilton—can undergo remarkable transformations and become loving, cherished pets.

So, if you’re a fan of Hamilton or great stories,  check out his inspiring article! You might just find yourself inspired to adopt a furry (or in Hamilton's case, very hairy) friend of your own!
